MiastoProjektWola is the next edition of Wola Art. In this year it relates to the boarders of space. Six individual Polish and foreign projects will be introduced, and lectures of architectural and art theorist will be heard.
Presented art projects propose different space identification resulting from the architecture and town planning of today’s Warsaw, as well as Poland’s dramatic historical background.
Wola is a borough of contrasts: on the one side, an enterprising business branch drawing new investments and the other, the remains of an old, pre-war borough of Warsaw and its post-war architectural realizations. What we see depends on where we sit. Often, we have to go beyond limits to see more.
In the area of Warsaw Wola, we will have an opportunity to see such art realizations of artists like: Koen De Decker, Jerzy Goliszewski, Lang/Baumann, Elham Rokni, Slavs and Tatars, Jakub Szczęsny.
Art installations appear in a general order and refer to the architecture and history of a spot. The architecture determines a project through its shape and size. The art underlines and emphasizes the harmony as well as opposites and discrepancies. The synergic relation of architecture and art of the chosen installations allows us to discover new ways of forming space as well as perceiving it.
The projects deliver signs to decode and want you to embark on a journey of searching structure and relations in the modern, dynamic city landscape.
